From Heritage to Horizon: online seminars on research proposals, innovation and technology transfer
26–27 October 2026 | Silesian University of Technology
The Silesian University of Technology, together with its HI-EURECA-PRO partners Montanuniversität Leoben, Hasselt University and Universidad de León, is pleased to announce “From Heritage to Horizon”, a two-day online event held on 26–27 October 2026. The seminars form part of the project’s work on increasing the global competitiveness of researchers.
The programme responds to a practical need voiced across the consortium: researchers, and early-career researchers in particular, are often ready to compete for European funding but have had few opportunities to learn how a strong proposal is actually built, or how to protect and valorise the knowledge they create. These two days set out to close that gap.
Day 1 — Proposals & International Collaboration opens with an introduction to the HI-EURECA-PRO Joint Research Agenda, followed by sessions on how evaluators read a proposal, how to approach the excellence and impact dimensions, and how to design a realistic work plan and implementation.
Day 2 — Innovation, IP & Technology Transfer turns to knowledge valorisation and intellectual-property management, practical pitching skills, and good practices in the operation of Technology Transfer Offices, with contributions supporting early-stage researchers.
The sessions are delivered online by experts from the non-widening partner universities. During the two days, participants will:
- follow focused, practice-oriented seminars delivered live online;
- learn how competitive Horizon Europe and Widening proposals are structured and assessed;
- explore IP management, knowledge valorisation and technology-transfer good practice;
- build pitching skills in preparation for future collaboration and funding opportunities.
The event is open to PhD students, researchers, and administrative staff from Technology Transfer Offices, Project Management and research-support units. Participants may register for one day or for both.
Registration is open via the form below, and we warmly encourage colleagues to share the invitation within their institutions and wider networks.
