Mining Heritage: An Opportunity for a Sustainable Future

On 13 November 2025, the University of Petroșani will host the second workshop on Transition, Circularity and Sustainability within the Mining Heritage context, as part of the HI-EURECA-PRO project.
This interactive event will focus on how mining heritage can become a driver for sustainability and circular innovation. The workshop will include contributions from Prof. Eng. Sorin Mihai Radu (Rector, University of Petroșani), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Sabin Ioan Irimie (Project Manager, HI-EURECA-PRO), and Prof. Dr. Carsten Drebenstedt (TU Bergakademie Freiberg), followed by a round table moderated by Prof. Dr. Eng. Maria Lazăr (Vice Rector, University of Petroșani)
The workshop encourages open dialogue with young researchers and regional stakeholders to explore how heritage-based innovation supports the green transition in post-mining regions.
